All Coastal Health District County Health Department employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency.

Job Responsibilities

Under nursing supervision, provides home visitation services to medically diagnosed high-risk, pregnant, post-partum and inter-conceptual women.

Works directly with a nurse case manager and other public health nurses to provide needed services and resources to this population.

Provide outreach, support and education to the target population and their surrounding community in order to reduce disparities in birth outcomes.

May also provide general clerical support.

Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Minimum Qualifications

PH LPN 1-Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college and current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse and CPR certification and completion of all necessary orientation and training for Public Health LPN.

PH LPN 2-Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college AND Two years of LPN public health experience AND current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse AND CPR certification.

PH LPN 3-Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college AND Four years of LPN public health experience AND current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse AND CPR certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual-Spanish. Appropriate interventions for high-risk prenatal patients. Appropriate interventions for high-risk newborns and infants. Home visitation experience. One year of Labor & Delivery experience OR One year working in a prenatal care clinic or One year experience working with moms and babies.
