  • Collect blood and other bodily fluids from patients using various techniques, including venipuncture and capillary collection.
  • Ensure that specimens are properly labeled, handled, and transported to the laboratory for testing.
  • Operate laboratory computer systems to document specimen information, patient registration, and order entry.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and efficient specimen collection.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with the laboratory team to ensure timely and accurate specimen processing and testing.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with laboratory procedures and technologies.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory, or Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, computer data entry, and organizational skills.
  • One year of phlebotomy experience preferred; certification from a National Accredited Program is a plus.
Work Environment

This is a per diem, as-needed position. The work schedule will be determined by the department's needs.
