Electrical Project Superintendent

Job Summary
The Project Superintendent will oversee the planning, coordination, and supervision of field and administrative operations for projects. This role requires technical direction and responsibility for safety, costs, productivity, profitability, and overall quality of work. The successful candidate will establish productivity goals, measure performance, and schedule labor, materials, and equipment, including subcontractor work. This position involves several levels of experience, with Project Superintendent I handling less complex projects under $20 million and Project Superintendent II managing medium-scale projects between $20-$50 million.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in reviewing shop drawings, submittals, subcontract change orders, and purchase orders.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop the project management plan, including scope management, procurement, environmental, time, financial, quality, and safety plans.
• Conduct weekly coordination meetings with project teams and subcontractors, and prepare daily field status reports.
• Coordinate documentation of constructability issues, potential design conflicts, and clarifications with relevant personnel.
• Develop and manage the construction plan for successful project execution.
• Ensure work is executed according to contract terms and conditions in a profitable manner.
• Interact effectively with owners, teams, and stakeholders to maintain a positive project environment and exceptional client experience.
• Manage field operations, responsible for project success, including profitability, safety, schedule, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Prepare and update the original CPM Project Schedule, ensuring it remains current to manage the project effectively using LEAN processes and Weekly Work Plans.
• Prevent claims, identify potential claims, quantify, document, mitigate, and resolve the effects of those that occur in a timely manner.
• Provide leadership and guidance to assigned project team members and subcontractors, planning, reviewing, developing, and managing the project team for relentless project execution.
• Responsible for developing and implementing the Project Quality Management and Safety plans according to Sundt standards as part of the project management plan.
• Responsible for timely completion of all punch lists and developing a schedule as required by the owner for successful start-up and commissioning of all systems.
Requirements
• Excellent communication, organizational, and supervisory skills are essential.
• Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience required.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction, including technology, equipment, and methods, negotiations, engineering, cost control, scheduling, and safety.
• Must have construction project and supervision experience in similar types of facilities.
• Must have water/wastewater treatment project experience.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required, including steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.
• May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
• May stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis.
• May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors.
• Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
• Occasionally will climb stairs, ladders, etc.
• Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects on a frequent basis.
• Will interact with people frequently during a shift/work day.
• Will lift, push, or pull objects on an occasional basis.
• Will sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/work day.
