Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team at ConnextCare. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, visitors, and representatives, directing them to the appropriate office or destination.
  • Register patients for their scheduled appointments, collecting and verifying demographic and insurance information.
  • Scan driver's licenses or photo IDs and insurance cards into electronic medical records software.
  • Collect payment portions of visits that patients are financially responsible for.
  • Have patients sign Patient Responsibility Agreements when necessary.
  • Distribute and secure signatures for required consent forms for treatment, offer Advanced Directives, Notice of Privacy Practices, and Patient Bill of Rights.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and secure signatures on appropriate insurance forms as needed.
  • Initiate encounter forms for patients' visits.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, transfer patients' calls where needed, and schedule appointments as appropriate.
  • Post charges on patient accounts and record all payments collected on designated forms.
  • Close daily journals and balance receipts to payments received.
  • Reconcile cash drawers and money bags.
  • Scan all patient documents as instructed.
  • Notify the Nurse Manager of excessive wait times.
  • Notify triage nurses of emergencies or nurse-related questions that patients have, and transport walk-ins/emergencies to appropriate areas if needed.
  • Maintain neat and clean waiting areas.
  • Print schedules three days in advance.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to meet organizational needs across the ConnextCare network.
  • Engage in Patient-Centered Medical Home initiatives, including participating as part of the Clinical Care Team.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, with office applications preferred.
  • Demonstrate proper judgment and decision-making skills when necessary.
  • Comply with the organization's code of conduct, safety rules, and adhere to all company policies.
  • Carry out job responsibilities in an ethical, effective, and professional manner.
  • Demonstrate the ability to cooperate, work, and communicate with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Demonstrate computer proficiency with Microsoft Suite and electronic medical record systems.
  • Possess a willingness to accept direction from providers and supervisors.
  • Possess the ability to work well and with compassion in stressful situations.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with both patients and coworkers.
  • Possess the ability to firmly pursue payments on account.

Salary

$15.25-$17.75 Depending on Experience
