Position Overview:

As a Machinist Specialist, you will be responsible for the layout and fabrication of tools based on engineering specifications and design drawings. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the precision and quality of the tooling produced.

Job Type: Full Time; Contract

Location: Savannah, GA

Work Schedule: 1st & 2nd Shift

Compensation: $28.75 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:

  1. Set up and operate various machining equipment to create and assemble high-quality tools according to engineering designs.
  2. Calculate the necessary materials and determine appropriate machining speeds and feeds.
  3. Utilize precision measuring instruments to verify the accuracy of your work against specifications.
  4. Assist in the validation of new and modified tooling designs.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  2. Operate material handling equipment as needed.
  3. Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or GED is required.
  2. A minimum of three years of experience in a machine shop or equivalent vocational training.
  3. Proficiency in conventional machining is essential.
  4. Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing is highly desirable.
  5. A valid Driver's License is required.

Additional Skills:

  1. Strong understanding of shop mathematics and the ability to interpret blueprints.
  2. Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Compensation and Benefits:
