Radiologic Technologist

As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at Geisinger Health System, you will play a critical role in the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. This position requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results.

• Ensure correct patient identification and preparation for exams, while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to regulatory requirements.
• Utilize appropriate imaging protocols and optimize technical factors to maximize patient safety and image quality.
• Prepare and administer medications as prescribed by licensed practitioners, while maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to federal and state laws.
• Evaluate images for proper positioning and technical quality, and verify archival storage and transfer of data.
• Educate and monitor students and other healthcare providers, while assisting licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic procedures.
• Perform diagnostic radiographic and non-interpretive fluoroscopic procedures as prescribed by licensed practitioners, including procedures performed outside of the Radiology Department.
• Demonstrate commitment to department and organizational priorities, while participating in modality quality and process improvement activities.

• Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology (required)
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study (preferred)
• Minimum of 2 years of related work experience (required)
• Basic Life Support Certification and Radiography (R) certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
