Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

Radiologic Technologists play a vital role in the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. As a Diagnostic Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a full scope of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, acquiring and analyzing data needed for diagnosis, and collaborating with licensed practitioners to ensure accurate and effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure correct patient identification and preparation for exams, and accurately document clinical history while maintaining confidentiality.
- Utilize appropriate imaging protocols and optimize technical factors to maximize patient safety and optimize patient care, adhering to principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable).
- Prepare and administer medications as prescribed by licensed practitioners, and evaluate images for proper positioning and technical quality.
- Educate and monitor students and other healthcare providers, and assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic procedures.
- Perform diagnostic radiographic and non-interpretive fluoroscopic procedures as prescribed by licensed practitioners, including procedures performed outside of the Radiology Department.
- Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology (required)
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study (preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of related work experience (required)
- Basic Life Support Certification and Radiography (R) certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
