Vision Care Specialist

At the United States Air Force, we require skilled professionals to provide primary eye care to our Airmen. As an Optometrist, you will examine and test people's eyes for visual acuity and eye diseases. Your role will involve prescribing correctional lenses and diagnosing conditions related to the ocular system.
Requirements
You must meet several requirements before joining the Air Force. These concern your background, overall health, and other standards set by the Air Force, Department of Defense, and federal law.
Education and Qualifications
A Doctor of Optometry from an accredited four-year college of optometry is required. Additionally, you must have an unrestricted state license to practice optometry utilizing therapeutic pharmacologic agents and complete the Officer Training School course. You must also be between the ages of 18 and have not reached your 42nd birthday.
Key Responsibilities
As an Optometrist, your key responsibilities will include examining and testing people's eyes, prescribing correctional lenses, and diagnosing conditions related to the ocular system. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive eye care to our Airmen.
