Job Summary:
This healthcare provider is seeking a dedicated and skilled Radiologic Imaging Specialist to join their team. In this role, you will administer general and specific X-rays, adjust equipment, and provide excellent patient care using various imaging modalities.
This position offers the opportunity to make a real difference in patients' lives while working in a collaborative, professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for X-rays by explaining procedures and ensuring proper positioning
- Operate radiographic equipment to perform diagnostic imaging examinations
- Determine proper voltage, current, and exposure time for X-ray procedures
- Prepare and administer contrast media or other chemicals when needed
- Observe patients during procedures and report any unusual occurrences
- Develop X-ray films and maintain radiographic technique records
- Clean and disinfect X-ray rooms and equipment
- Maintain stock supplies and inspect emergency trays
- Provide education for staff and peers based on identified needs
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
Qualifications:
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification required
- State certification to practice/administer radiation required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology preferred
- 1-3 years of experience as a Radiologic Imaging Specialist preferred
- Strong knowledge of radiographic positioning and techniques
- Familiarity with various imaging modalities and equipment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent patient care and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in using radiologic information systems (RIS) and PACS
- Knowledge of radiation safety practices and ALARA principles
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move patients as needed
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required
