Sonographer - Radiology Diagnostics - Casual/PRN

Position Overview:

This role is categorized as casual/PRN, meaning the individual will work on an as-needed basis to fulfill operational requirements. The schedule may vary significantly from week to week.

Typical Work Hours:

Shifts will vary, including on-call duties, weekend work, and potential holiday shifts.

The Sonographer will deliver diagnostic imaging services utilizing ultrasound technology and associated procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Core Functions

  • Adhering to departmental policies and procedures.

  • Maintaining patient confidentiality.

Work Schedule:

This is a casual/PRN role with varied shifts, including on-call, weekends, and potential holiday coverage.

Position Requirements:

Educational Background

  • Must be registered or board eligible with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound Technology program is mandatory.

Professional Experience

  • Preferred experience includes at least one year in general and vascular Sonography.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is strongly preferred at the time of hire and required within three months.
  • ARDMS registration or board eligibility is required.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) credential must be obtained within one year of employment.
  • Preferred RDMS credentials in Abdomen (AD) and OB/GYN.
  • Participation in mandatory training and continuing education as required by policies and supervisors.

  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Commitment to attending required training and educational programs.
  • Adherence to established safety protocols and standards.

Physical Demands:

  • Medium work capacity, requiring the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force.
