Job Title: Childcare Administrator

Assistant Director for Child Care

Job Summary

This position is responsible for the supervision and compliance of the childcare program. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of childcare center quality, compliance, health, safety, and licensing standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all areas of licensing compliance are met, with a goal of 100% compliance with licensing regulations.
  • Oversee the submission of all licensing paperwork to the Office of Child Care within the required time frame.
  • Ensure health and safety guidelines are upheld, including regular inspections and confirmation of current health, building, and licensing inspections.
  • Assist the Early Learning Coordinator in the site license renewal process and continuation of license to operate.
  • Proactively monitor the qualification status for all site staff, including MSDE required trainings.
  • Ensure staff compliance with regulations, including observation of staff and documentation of performance, and regular meetings with staff.
  • Responsible for the orientation of site staff.
  • Work with the Early Learning Coordinator to address, document, and resolve complaints and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Maintain successful working relationships with licensing specialists, staff, and families.
  • Perform administrative duties, including maintaining and monitoring accurate childcare center records.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Holds an associate degree with at least 15 semester hours of early childhood coursework or a bachelor's degree in any field and completed 2 years experience working with preschool children.
  • 90 clock hours or the equivalent of approved early childhood coursework or CDA credential or hold a teaching certificate from MSDE for Nursery - Grade 3.
  • At least 2 years experience working with preschoolers in an approved licensed childcare center.
  • At least 2 years experience managing a childcare center.
  • At least 9 clock hours of approved training in communication with staff, parents, and the public.
  • 40 - 45 clock hours or the equivalent of approved administrative training.
  • 3 clock hours in ADA compliance.
  • Within 6 months of date of hire, complete childcare regulation training.

$39.87 - $50.33
