Position Overview
The primary objective of this role is to assist Plant Quality Managers in executing high-impact projects while ensuring the safe integration of new products or those transitioned from other production sites.
Key Responsibilities
Safe Product Launch
- Oversee Safe Launch initiatives for new TPPL products (New Product Introductions) and manage product transfers between different facilities.
- Assist Advanced Quality teams with the development of internal PPAP documentation.
- Evaluate the outcomes of Advanced Quality and Engineering documentation (including factory control plans and DFMEA) alongside test results (DVP&R reports against regulatory or customer standards) for final approval.
- Create procedural guidelines for factories to initiate testing plans, starting from Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to progressively authorize shipments.
- Utilize and update PFMEA as risks are mitigated following validation and safe launch testing.
Scrap Reduction Initiatives
- Align priorities with factory Quality Managers based on MDI Pareto analysis and scrap loss categories.
- Lead project execution and collaborate with various factory departments to minimize scrap losses, targeting at least one project per factory.
- Develop and track KPI dashboards to establish baselines and ensure ongoing effectiveness and control.
- Implement Statistical Process Control methodologies to guarantee that critical factors (X's) remain within control limits, ensuring that outcomes (Y) meet specifications.
- Collaborate directly with factory Engineers (Quality, Process, etc.), Operations, and Product Engineering teams to synchronize efforts around top priorities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager.
This position does not entail any supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
The following qualifications are essential for this role. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to fulfill essential functions:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Extensive knowledge of battery manufacturing processes (minimum of 3 years).
- Experience in project leadership (minimum of 3 years).
- Familiarity with DMAIC methodologies.
