Job Summary:

The Columbia College Athletic Training Graduate Assistant will provide comprehensive support to the college's athletic programs. This role involves performing duties in accordance with the college's vision, mission, and values, and contributing to the development of the Athletics Department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist athletic training staff members with daily care of athletes, practice and competition coverage of NAIA sports, and other duties as assigned.
  • Prepare athletes and provide medical coverage for team practices and games, including travel.
  • Conduct orthopedic evaluations, treatments, and rehabilitations of athletic injuries.
  • Participate in program and athletic department fund-raising efforts.
  • Work effectively with students, student-athletes, administrators, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, officials, and coaching peers.
  • Maintain the integrity of the athletic program through knowledge and application of NAIA rules and regulations.
  • Provide superior customer service.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution.
  • Acceptance into a Columbia College graduate program.
  • NATA certification or eligibility for certification.
  • BOC certification or eligibility for certification.
  • Current American Red Cross Professional Rescuer certification.
  • Athletic training room experience at a high school or college level.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a college environment.
Work Environment:

The work environment is typically mild, with occasional exposure to outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate.
