KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluate relevant codes, standards, and specifications for adherence
  • Oversee field testing activities
  • Conduct general inspections of construction operations
  • Calculate, measure, and document installed quantities
  • Prepare Inspection Document Requests (IDR's) and Document Change Requests (DCR's)
  • Supervise materials sampling and testing timelines
  • Collaborate with the Construction Manager's Quality Coordinator
  • Certifications including IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities
  • Track the progress of contractor activities
  • Maintain Quantity Book records
  • Ensure Daily Logs and Contractor Logs are up to date
  • Facilitate weekly progress meetings
  • Supervise Field Staff
  • Provide training for Field Staff
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience with transportation agencies such as Chicago DOT, IDOT, or Illinois Tollway
  • Knowledge of GPS technology is advantageous
  • Familiarity with GIS systems is a plus
  • A good sense of humor is appreciated
