Position Title: Registered Behavior Technician
Purpose of the Role: The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) plays a crucial role in delivering personalized one-on-one behavioral support aimed at enhancing communication, social interactions, and daily living skills while minimizing challenging behaviors across diverse environments.
Supervision: Directly supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and sustain a therapeutic rapport with clients.
- Encourage safe and socially appropriate behaviors.
- Gradually reduce prompts to foster independent responses.
- Enhance the occurrence of positive behaviors through reinforcement strategies.
- Precisely document behavioral data.
- Adhere to established treatment objectives and intervention strategies.
- Engage collaboratively with families and the supervising BCBA.
- Provide guidance to parents regarding reinforcement techniques and early intervention practices.
- Educate all stakeholders on ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) methodologies.
- Avoid conflicts of interest by maintaining professional boundaries.
- Conduct reassessments as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with supervision requirements.
Qualifications:
The minimum educational requirement is a High School Diploma, with a preference for coursework in psychology, education, or related disciplines. Candidates must possess or be in the process of obtaining certification as a Registered Behavior Technician from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
