Job Title: Registered Nurse Preop/PACU

Job Summary:

The Preop/PACU Registered Nurse is a critical member of our surgical services team, responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the preoperative and post-anesthesia care units. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to patient safety and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee patient flow to optimize care, safety, and satisfaction
  2. Provide patient education to facilitate plan of care and promote optimal wellness
  3. Delegate and provide care appropriately, adhering to regulatory requirements
  4. Demonstrate competent preoperative and post-anesthesia care nursing skills with minimal supervision
  5. Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist in procedures as needed, adhering to patient safety guidelines
  6. Complete patient documentation and paperwork with accuracy
  7. Work independently in both preoperative and post-anesthesia care units, taking call as needed
  8. Assume new assignments as directed, demonstrating competence and necessary skillset aligned with ASPAN standards
  9. Identify abnormalities and perform necessary interventions during post-operative emergencies
  10. Deliver excellent service by utilizing Relationship-Based Care to advocate for patient safety, preferences, and optimal communication
  11. Role model the principles of a Just Culture
Requirements:
  • One year of preoperative and post-anesthesia care experience required
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado or from a valid compact state required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required
  • Minimum of Associate Nursing Degree for positions hired after 07/01/2018
