Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare meals according to established recipes or those provided by the Culinary Services Director.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
  • Modify recipes to accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies.
  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure optimal food service.
  • Assist fellow cooks during meal preparation.
  • Ensure thorough cleaning and sanitization of kitchen equipment and surfaces.
  • Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients accurately.
  • Utilize various cooking methods such as steaming, grilling, baking, and frying.
  • Inspect food and ingredients for quality and freshness.
  • Present and garnish dishes attractively.
  • Work efficiently under pressure and within time constraints.
  • Delight residents and guests with exceptional culinary creations.
  • Gather feedback from residents and suggest meal options to supervisors.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work atmosphere.
  • Enjoy a schedule that avoids late-night shifts.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED, as required by state regulations.
  • One (1) year of cooking experience in a restaurant, healthcare, or senior services environment.
  • Two (2) years of cooking experience or completion of culinary training/certification in commercial food preparation for Chef positions.
