Role Responsibilities
As a Junior Associate, you will collaborate closely with GHS personnel to aid in the formulation and execution of communications and advocacy plans addressing various global health topics. Your primary focus will be on supporting impactful client initiatives, while also engaging in training and professional development opportunities.
- Assist in researching and drafting strategy documents, media content, and issue briefs.
- Track and evaluate media coverage and discussions surrounding global health matters.
- Provide logistical support for conferences, meetings, and events organized by GHS for its clients.
- Maintain databases of global health media contacts, policymakers, and thought leaders.
- Support GHS staff with project management tasks, including drafting meeting notes, updating project plans, and monitoring budgets.
Professional Development
- Receive weekly guidance from a manager and monthly mentorship from a senior management team member.
- Gain access to skill-building workshops, curated reading materials, and lunch discussions with leaders in the global health sector.
- Potential opportunities to attend global health conferences.
- Develop expertise in a specific global health issue.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Global Health, or International Policy.
- Ability to communicate and write clearly and effectively.
- Innovative and passionate about advancing global health initiatives.
- Experience with communications and advocacy on digital platforms is advantageous.
Preferred Experience
- Internship experience in a communications or social media role within a global health organization.
- Leadership roles during academic studies.
Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000
Priority will be given to resumes submitted with a cover letter.
