Position Overview

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma is required.
  • Certification or progress towards certification by the Association of Professional Chaplains is preferred, along with accreditation from a Lutheran Theology institution or Ordination.

Experience:

  • Prior experience in a healthcare environment is advantageous.

WORK SCHEDULE:

This is a part-time role with hours that will fluctuate to accommodate the needs of the organization.

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The primary aim of this role is to oversee the establishment of a spiritual and religious framework, providing personal counseling and guidance to residents, their families, and staff members. The Spiritual Care Coordinator will deliver emotional and spiritual assistance to residents, families, and personnel. The incumbent will foster ongoing connections with local Lutheran congregations and clergy to promote their engagement and participation in our spiritual initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, organize, implement, assess, and lead the spiritual services within the organization.
  • Adhere to the guidelines outlined in the Spiritual Care Manual.
  • Exhibit responsibility, accountability, and reliability.
  • Propose recommendations for necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Communicate issues to the Administrator.
  • Collaborate with various departments.
