As a Senior Electrical Colocation Regional Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the engineering and operational excellence of AWS data centers across the Americas.

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is at the forefront of cloud infrastructure, responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and management of AWS's global infrastructure. Our mission is to ensure seamless access to cloud innovation for our customers.
Your Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
1. Conduct comprehensive site evaluations to ensure compliance with AWS standards for colocation data centers and telecommunications facilities.
2. Perform risk assessments and availability calculations for vendor-operated colocation data centers to determine their suitability for AWS services.
3. Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to identify and rectify operational and design deficiencies that may affect site performance.
Collaboration and Influence:
You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including business development, design engineers, and operations professionals, to influence AWS design and specification requirements that align with our business objectives.
Standards and Compliance:
Ensure that all operations meet federal, state, and local regulations by working with vendors and regulatory agencies. You will also support the testing and validation of critical systems, ensuring they meet operational performance standards.
Travel Requirements:
This position may require travel to various data center locations, both domestically and internationally, up to 50% of the time.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in data center or telecommunications design, engineering, and operations.
- Preferred: A Master's degree in engineering and relevant certifications (PE or EIT).
