This position requires working hours from 5:30 PM to 5:30 AM EST, Sunday through Wednesday.
The Senior Systems Administrator plays a crucial role in overseeing and maintaining the functionality of data center infrastructure. This position entails providing tier 2+ network monitoring and support for essential operations, ensuring comprehensive documentation, and following established operational protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct real-time monitoring of computing and networking resources across multiple data center locations
- Identify, analyze, and resolve system alerts
- Perform hands-on administration of virtual machines and associated devices
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues within the virtualization environment
- Respond to technical support requests from end users
- Manage changes to compute configurations
- Develop and uphold operational reporting standards
- Coordinate hardware maintenance and replacements with vendors
Required Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of experience in systems administration
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
- Technical expertise in virtualization administration
- Familiarity with contemporary data center infrastructure
- 8570 IAT II Level Certification or higher
- TS/SCI security clearance is mandatory
- Understanding of the ITIL framework
Core Skills Preferred:
- Familiarity with VMware ESX
- Strong grasp of enterprise networking
- Experience with enterprise-level monitoring tools
Additional Skills Considered a Plus:
- Ability to identify trends and drive key performance metrics
- Experience with ServiceNow
- Strong technical written and verbal communication skills
- Experience supporting the Intelligence or DoD Community
