Position Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

The individual in this role will be accountable for a range of general production tasks, including bagging, load-out operations, front-end loader tasks, transporting materials via trucks, and unloading rail cars at various plant locations.

Core Duties Include:

  1. Loading trucks and railcars in accordance with shipping specifications.
  • Conducting thorough inspections of trucks and railcars prior to loading, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Documenting and sealing railcars as per operational requirements.
  • Ensuring even loading of vehicles to meet weight specifications.
  • Maintaining cleanliness in loading areas.
  • Completing railcar and truck checklists.
  • Submitting daily track checklists to the office for record-keeping.
  1. Performing general cleanup duties.
  • Keeping the loadout area free from materials and debris, ensuring regular emptying of trash receptacles.
  • Assisting fellow production staff in maintaining cleanliness throughout the plant.
  1. Bagging Operations
  • Operating bagging machinery to package and palletize materials.
  • Conducting pre-start checks on equipment and completing necessary inspection forms.
  • Loading trucks with bagged products, ensuring accuracy in product placement.
  • Operating forklifts and maintaining daily logs for all mobile equipment.
  1. Conducting quality tests as required and accurately logging results.
  2. Alerting the plant operator regarding material needs for bagging production, ensuring compliance with quality control standards.
  3. Reporting any potential issues promptly.
  • Informing management of material shortages affecting daily shipments.
  • Notifying management of any gradation discrepancies or loading time adjustments.
  • Alerting management and maintenance teams to unusual equipment noises or potential mechanical issues.
  • Assisting maintenance personnel with mechanical repairs as needed.
  1. Administrative Duties
  • Completing and maintaining all relevant paperwork as directed by management on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis.
  1. Additional tasks may be assigned to ensure a safe and efficient operation.
Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills

Candidates must successfully pass a company physical and drug/alcohol screening. Previous experience in manufacturing is preferred. Certification in forklift and front-end loader operation is advantageous.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
