Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual for the role of Clinical Scholar in Breast Oncology, focusing on a balanced contribution to both clinical service and academic responsibilities.

Institutional Collaboration: This position is a joint effort between the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the University of Washington, aimed at enhancing the research and clinical care for patients diagnosed with breast cancer. The appointment will be at the Assistant Professor level, without tenure due to funding constraints.

Research and Clinical Opportunities: The selected candidate will engage in ongoing clinical and laboratory research initiatives that delve into the biology and treatment methodologies for breast cancer. There will also be opportunities to establish a personal clinical research program, alongside participation in the educational and clinical activities of both the Clinical Research Division and the Division of Hematology and Oncology.

Teaching Responsibilities: The role includes educational duties such as supervising housestaff and fellows during both outpatient and inpatient care, as well as delivering lectures to medical trainees and the broader medical community.

Appointment Details: The primary appointment will be within the Clinical Research Division. Faculty members are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service cycle, which includes provisions for paid time off.

Clinical and Research Balance: The successful candidate will dedicate approximately 50% of their time to clinical care, with the remaining time allocated for research, teaching, and mentorship activities.
