Job Summary:

UTMB Health seeks a skilled Vocational Nurse to provide direct nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, including administering medications and treatments.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Document patient care in accordance with UTMB Health policies and procedures.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to infection control protocols.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse Program and current license/permit as a vocational nurse in the State of Texas.
  • Current BLS-HP certification.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced correctional environment.

Work Environment:

Located within the confines of a prison or juvenile detention center, this role requires a high level of security clearance and adherence to UTMB Health policies and procedures.
