Job Summary

The Certified Pharmacy Technician will provide high-quality pharmacy services, including preparing and distributing pharmaceuticals, performing inventory control and compliance audits, and providing customer service. This role works under the direct supervision of the Manager and/or Pharmacists to ensure delivery of patient-focused pharmacy service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and distribute pharmaceuticals, including Compounded Sterile Preparations (CSP)
  • Perform inventory control and compliance audits
  • Provide customer service and maintain pharmacy records
  • Work under the direct supervision of the Manager and/or Pharmacists
  • Develop and implement performance or quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Registered as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern with the MA Board of Pharmacy
  • National certification from Pharmacy Tech Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam of Certified Pharmacy Techs (exCPT)
  • 2-3 years' experience with at least one year pharmacy-related experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years' experience
  • Pharmacy students who have completed 2 years of education in an approved college/school of pharmacy are eligible for pharmacy internship
Knowledge and Skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families/visitors, colleagues, and others
  • Ability to speak the English language, read, interpret, and follow complicated verbal and written instruction
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize essential tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Strong math skills and ability to perform general mathematical functions
  • Basic computer proficiency
