Phlebotomy Supervisor Job Description

Job Summary

The Phlebotomy Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of phlebotomists in our Patient Service Centers and client offices. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a team of phlebotomists to ensure excellent patient and client service
  • Monitor and report on productivity and performance metrics
  • Coordinate phlebotomists' schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels
  • Perform operational duties such as payroll and performance appraisals
  • Partner with Human Resources to address employee relations issues and disciplinary actions
  • Hire and train new phlebotomists to fill open positions
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, including patients, client office staff, sales team, logistics, and senior management
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and clients
  • Assist in the setup of new Patient Service Centers or client offices
  • Resolve patient and client issues in a timely and professional manner
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior experience in a leadership position required
  • Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a phlebotomist highly preferred
  • Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Proven track record of providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
