  • Responsibilities include installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and adjusting both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Basic understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) relevant to the facility is essential.
  • Conduct all required preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Perform basic calibration tasks on various equipment throughout the facility.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with electronic instrumentation, including devices such as thermocouples, motor tachometers, temperature controllers, and pressure transducers.
  • Support production operations by providing prompt responses to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
  • Effective communication with colleagues and personnel from other departments is crucial for understanding and resolving issues.
  • Must possess the ability to accurately interpret colors.
  • Repair and troubleshoot machinery utilized in the production of padded polystyrene trays, including thermoforming, padding, and extrusion equipment.
  • Safely operate all relevant shop equipment.
  • Operate forklifts and yard machinery as required.
  • Work must meet high standards of craftsmanship and professionalism in terms of quality, efficiency, and material use.
  • Conduct self-inspections related to food safety and defense, reporting any deficiencies identified.

Education and Skills Required:

  • Education/Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of industrial experience in an electrical and mechanical setting. Completion of a trades program or a two-year associate degree is preferred.
  • Language Skills: Excellent communication skills are necessary.
  • Mathematical Skills: Proficient mathematical abilities are required.
  • Reasoning Skills: Ability to systematically address problems and work under deadlines, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is expected.
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal travel is anticipated.
  • Other Qualifications: Basic knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interface (HMI), and motor drives. Proficient use of electrical multimeters is also required.
