Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver routine and on-demand clinical engineering services, including repair, maintenance, relocation, and installation of medical equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation regarding equipment, inventory, and service records.
  • Collaborate with IT professionals to ensure seamless integration of medical equipment with information systems.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on assigned equipment.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associate's degree in Biomedical or Electronic Engineering is required.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • A high school diploma/GED combined with relevant experience may substitute for formal education.

Certifications:

  • Certification as a Clinical Engineer (CCE) or Biomedical Engineering Technologist (BMET) is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Clinical Engineering Technician I at Cleveland Clinic or four years of relevant experience in a similar field.
  • Equivalent specialized or military training may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and climb ladders to work on overhead equipment.
  • Capability to work in confined spaces and assume prone positions.
  • Manual dexterity for handling tools and small mechanical components.
  • Visual acuity to distinguish color-coded wiring and read detailed schematics.

Compensation:

The hourly pay range for this position is between $27.65 and $42.17, depending on experience and qualifications. This range does not include the comprehensive benefits package offered by Cleveland Clinic, which includes healthcare, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
