As part of the Internationalization team, our goal is to ensure that Apple's offerings are accessible to customers globally. We seek a software engineer who is enthusiastic about languages and is committed to developing solutions for a diverse array of languages and cultural contexts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop code for Input Methods across various languages, including but not limited to Chinese, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Tamil, and Vietnamese.
  • Design and implement Keyboard Layouts for over 100 languages.
  • Engage in enhancing user experiences for input methods integrated with Apple Intelligence, including Writing Tools.
  • Collaborate with various teams—such as Accessibility, Hardware, Human Interface, NLP, and Privacy—to address both design and engineering challenges, ensuring that innovative experiences are accessible to all Apple users.
  • Contribute to the broader internationalization community, including participation in open-source projects like CLDR.

Minimum Qualifications:
BS or MS in Computer Science or a related discipline
Proficiency in a C-like programming language (Java, C, C++, Objective-C, Swift, etc.)
Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and coding standards
Familiarity with unit testing and a strong commitment to high-quality software
Passion for languages and enhancing Apple's product offerings
Experience in developing iOS applications utilizing Apple's UI frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of internationalization and Unicode standards.

Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package, which is determined within a specific range.

This allows for growth as you advance in your role.

The base salary range for this position is between $121,909 and $214,500 annually, depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in our discretionary employee stock programs.

Employees may also be eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
