Job Description

The Shop Technician position at Armoda is a critical role in the construction of blast-resistant buildings and other industrial structures. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the interior build-out of these structures, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting blueprint drawings to accurately construct interior finishes on industrial buildings using hand or power tools and appropriate materials.
  • Producing work in accordance with industry standards and ensuring that all products or work meet specifications.
  • Cross-training in various construction skill sets and utilizing skills in multiple stages of the manufacturing process.
  • Examining products or work to verify conformance to specifications and ensuring quality of products or work.
  • Inspecting machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Following established safety and security rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean work area and environment.

Requirements:

  • 6+ months of construction-related experience.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and practice basic arithmetic.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions and provide consistent work.
  • Works well as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in construction, including skills in either carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or HVAC.

  • Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • The worker is frequently required to operate machinery and/or power tools. Must be able to safely work with sharp tools or power equipment.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
