We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Electronics Engineer - Hardware Architect to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed system architecture documentation for complex IT systems.
Key Responsibilities- System Architecture: Develop and maintain detailed system architecture documentation for complex IT systems, ensuring alignment with company standards and best practices.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other engineers to architect a system to meet design requirements and stakeholder needs, fostering a culture of innovation and teamwork.
- Documentation: Develop and release engineering documentation for detailed system architecture and requirements, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Troubleshooting: Review support requests from the field and provide troubleshooting steps and/or create Deficiency Reports (DRs) to provide solutions in future Integrated Functional Capability (IFC) releases.
- Change Management: Create and manage hardware DRs via the Software Review Board (SRB) process and Change Requests (CRs), ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption.
- Lab Upgrades: Coordinate teams to upgrade lab systems to the latest IFC, ensuring timely and efficient implementation.
- Process Improvement: Develop internal software tools to improve process of organizing, documenting, and visualizing information, driving efficiency and productivity.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 3 years of related engineering experience.
- Experience: Experience with systems engineering practices, Microsoft Visio, and other Office products to express engineering documentation.
- Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
- Clearance: Active in-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance.
- Special Program Access: Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) and upgraded SAP/PAR.
- Current Clearance: Current Special Program Access.
- Programming Skills: Ability to develop and maintain Python scripts and UML diagrams.
- Agile Methodology: Familiarity with Agile development methodology.
- Issue Tracking: Familiarity with Jira or similar issue tracking system.
- Version Control: Familiarity with version control such as SVN and Git.
- DoDAF: Familiarity with Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF).
- MBSE: Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- ICDs: Familiarity with Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
- SDDs: Familiarity with System Design Documents (SDDs).
- Tools and Technologies: Familiarity with Python, UML, Sphinx, REST, YAML, Jinja, Microsoft Operating Systems, Active Directory, Fibre Channel Storage Area Networks, Layer 2 and 3 networking, VPN, IPSec, Storage technologies, UNIX, Linux, Glassfish, Docker, Virtualization, Physical and Cyber Security.
