Public Health Leader for a 6-Month AmeriCorps Program

As an AmeriCorps member with the American Red Cross, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on public health in your community. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about community outreach and education, and are looking to gain valuable experience and skills.
Job DescriptionThis position involves working with non-profit agencies to engage volunteers and provide emergency readiness education to vulnerable communities. You will be responsible for identifying and conducting outreach within the communities we serve, recruiting a diverse pool of volunteers, and supporting them through the onboarding process. Additionally, you will deliver preparedness presentations and hands-only CPR instruction, and support the recovery of individuals impacted by public health and disaster-related emergencies.
Requirements- You must be able to serve approximately 40+ hours per week for 5.5 months, starting in February 2025. The program dates are between February 17, 2025, and August 22, 2025.
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Able to pass a criminal background check
- Holds a High School Diploma or GED
- Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Applicants who currently reside outside of Washington should be prepared to relocate if selected for the position

- A bi-weekly stipend of $869.57, paid every other Friday

- May qualify for student loan forbearance for federal student loans and child care assistance
- May qualify for SNAP benefits (approx. $200-$250 per month towards food)
