We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Loan Closer to join our team in Houston, TX. As a Commercial Loan Closer, you will play a critical role in reviewing credit files and completing necessary documentation for SBA packaging files.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify loan documents, including income, credit, appraisal, and title insurance, to ensure accuracy and compliance with Bank policies and SBA Guidelines.
  • Collaborate with commercial lenders, business development officers, underwriting, attorneys, and document preparation teams to prepare loan package closings.
  • Enter information into the loan operating system (LOS), follow up, and communicate with loan pre-closers and loan officers to obtain missing or updated documentation.
  • Maintain control over loans in process to detect potential problems and ensure department managers are informed of any issues.
  • Review closing documents upon receipt from the bank attorney to ensure conformance with approved loan terms and conditions.
  • Order and review UCC/Federal/State/County preliminary lien searches, title commitments, flood search, appraisal, environmental reports, and requests for essential loan documentation.
  • Review articles and by-laws/operating agreements of partnership, corporation, and limited liability company (LLC).
  • Ensure prompt payment of Guaranty fee in the SBA/USDA required time frame.
  • Reconcile equity injection and make final verification determination.
  • Review scanned loan documents on closed loan files assigned to you by VP/Closing Department Manager before it is given for final Quality Control (QC) review.
  • Follow internal audit procedures to ensure files are properly documented and scanned into an electronic scanning system.
  • Work with the Loan Funding Specialist to ensure a smooth transition on construction and multi-disbursement projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree (AA) from a four-year college or university and two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of commercial lending and SBA lending processes is required to assist in the preparation of this information.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with multiple people, multitask, work in a team environment, and manage an assigned pipeline to meet closing expectations.
  • Advanced knowledge of lending operations and closing procedures.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts to apply math concepts.
  • Ability to apply sound judgment and understanding to carry out instructions and/or to solve problems with variables.
