Position Overview

Engineers and Constructors International Inc. is seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to enhance our team. This role is pivotal in overseeing the mechanical engineering aspects of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Leadership: Act as the Mechanical Engineering Lead, responsible for manhour estimations, project recruitment, and progress monitoring.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with various internal engineering teams and external stakeholders, including clients and licensors.
  • Design Responsibilities: Oversee the design and specification of stationary equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers), rotating equipment (compressors, pumps), and machinery packages (thermal oxidizers, pneumatic conveying systems, extruder/pelletizers).
  • Equipment Requisitioning: Ensure requisitioning experience with both fixed and rotating equipment.
  • Technical Documentation: Develop equipment specifications and prepare technical inquiry documents, including requisitions and datasheets.
  • Supplier Coordination: Review supplier technical quotes, conduct bid analyses, and coordinate design documents with equipment suppliers.
  • Inspection and Travel: Participate in inspections and attend project kick-off meetings as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years in engineering design within the oil & gas, petrochemical, or plastics sectors.
  • Skills: Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of EPC project workflows.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within a small team while also being self-sufficient and confident in decision-making.
  • Organization: Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industry codes, safety standards, and regulations.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel internationally when required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PE License in Texas and Louisiana or the ability to obtain it shortly.
  • Experience with API 618 Reciprocating Compressors and API 674/675 Positive Displacement Pumps.
  • Knowledge of ASME Section VIII Division 1 and 2 pressure vessels.
  • Familiarity with other machinery packages such as thermal oxidizers and pneumatic conveying systems is advantageous.
