Job Overview
Responsibilities
As a Lead Food Service Assistant, you will oversee food service staff to ensure adherence to quality standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and documenting food temperatures.
- Setting up and maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area.
- Preparing and serving food items.
- Restocking food areas and cleaning equipment.
- Processing payments for food and beverages using a computerized register.
Compliance with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines is essential. You will provide exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with patrons and colleagues, fostering positive working relationships.
Equipment Operation
You may operate various equipment, including grills, beverage machines, cash registers, and dishwashers. Experience in the food industry is preferred, along with the ability to work independently and understand food safety and sanitation processes. The role requires being on your feet for extended periods and walking significant distances.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. You should possess the ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions, as well as perform basic math. A minimum of two years of experience in food service is preferred, along with previous leadership experience. On-the-job training will be provided, and depending on the location, completion of a Diet Therapy Class and passing Diet Therapy exams may be required. Serv Safe certification may also be necessary within a designated timeframe.
