Job Title: Senior Environmental Oversight Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Environmental Oversight Technician to join our team at Environmental Consultants (ECI). This is a field position that requires a strong understanding of environmental compliance and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide environmental compliance and construction oversight on transmission site development and linear transmission line construction projects.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations for wetland access, protected species, wood and debris disposal, site control, and soil disturbance.
  • Manage and oversee site development crews, including sediment and erosion control or best management practice (BMP) contractors.
  • Monitor and report to project management on the status of construction units, estimated and actuals billed to date of project.
  • Document pre- and post-work field conditions to ensure compliance with permits and environmental regulations.
Requirements:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in environmental science, construction management, building science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years' experience in compliance-related site development work and/or utility construction permitting.
  • Strong understanding of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Service (NPDES), North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ), Construction General Permits (CGP), and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) implementation and inspections.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
