Therapist - Pulmonary Function

A Respiratory Therapy Coordinator is required to work at Hampton Homecare. The main responsibility of this role will be to plan, implement, and evaluate a respiratory plan of care to meet individual resident requirements.
Responsibilities:- Develops and implements respiratory plans of care for residents
• Evaluates resident needs and develops individualized plans of care
• Provides treatment, evaluation, and monitoring of breathing disorders and cardiovascular problems
• Determines requirements for treatment, including type, method, and duration of therapy
• Monitors resident responses to therapy and consults with physicians when necessary
• Participates in therapist-driven protocols for weaning of residents from ventilators
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to manage resident care
• Educates residents and their families about their conditions and teaches appropriate disease management techniques - Assists with tracheotomy care, routine/emergency trach changes, and ventilator management
• Inspects, cleans, tests, and maintains respiratory therapy equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
• Participates actively in department's quality improvement activities - Serves as a clinical resource for nursing staff, residents, families, and other staff members
• Participates in Comprehensive Care Plan Meetings
• Communicates with staff regarding changes in resident condition
• Records resident responses to treatment in medical records
- Completion of a certificate program, associate or higher degree program, in respiratory therapy
- Credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist and hold a current license by the New York State Education Department as a Respiratory Therapist
$70,000 - $90,000 per year, based on experience
