Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in delivering care and guidance to individuals, focusing on health promotion and the prevention of illness and injury through the nursing process.

Supervision:
This role operates under the guidance of a Nurse Manager who oversees administrative duties, provides general direction, organizes work assignments, manages schedules, approves leave requests, and conducts performance assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
The RN is responsible for providing direct care to patients with complex medical conditions, including those requiring chemotherapy and telemetry monitoring. The medical conditions addressed include, but are not limited to, pulmonary issues, cardiology, infectious diseases, oncology, neurology, and hematology.

The nurse is accountable for all aspects of the nursing process while delivering and supervising patient care. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care tailored to the patient's age and specific needs.

The RN coordinates care with a focus on ensuring smooth transitions for patients throughout their care journey, providing education to patients and families, and supporting self-management post-discharge, while also considering factors that influence patient satisfaction.

Medication Administration:
The nurse administers medications and procedures in accordance with established policies and protocols, actively participating in collaborative efforts with the interdisciplinary team to influence positive patient outcomes.

Performance Standards:
Core performance elements include knowledge and active engagement in quality improvement initiatives at the unit or program level, as well as participation in customer service programs.

Work Schedule:
This position offers a flexible work schedule. However, it is not a virtual role.

Qualifications:
To qualify, candidates must be U.S. citizens or meet specific criteria for non-citizens. All selected applicants will undergo a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Registration with the Selective Service is required for males born after December 31, 1959. A probationary period may be necessary, and candidates must pass a pre-employment physical examination.

Educational Requirements:
Candidates must possess proficiency in written and spoken English and have graduated from an accredited nursing program. A current, unrestricted nursing license from any U.S. state or territory is required.

Physical Demands:
This role necessitates visual acuity, hearing, clear speech, and manual dexterity. The position may involve prolonged periods of walking, standing, and transferring patients, with potential exposure to infectious materials.
