Aircraft Mechanic 3 Job Description

Job Summary:

Aircraft Mechanic 3's are responsible for performing maintenance and repair tasks on F/A-18 E/F/G aircraft. The ideal candidate will have experience with power plants, airframe and hydraulic systems, avionics, and electrical and navigation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks to ensure aircraft are safe for flight
  • Inspect and maintain aircraft systems, including power plants, airframe and hydraulic systems, avionics, and electrical and navigation systems
  • Diagnose and repair complex problems using technical data and manuals
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with maintenance manuals and instructions
  • Participate in training and qualification of new personnel
  • Inspect and maintain company and customer assets, including personal protective equipment

Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Seven years maintenance/production control experience with three years F/A-18 E/F/G O-level Safe for Flight experience
  • Completed Navy Aviation Maintenance Control Management for Optimized Organizational Maintenance Activity (OOMA)
  • Valid Virginia or North Carolina driver's license (if North Carolina resident)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical publications, safety rules, and operating and maintenance instructions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aircraft Weight and Balance E
  • Naval Aviation Logs & Records E
