Licensing Specialist

Job Summary
This position plays a critical role in the economic vitality of Virginia by processing applications and changes for licensure/certification from businesses and individuals for the regulatory boards assigned to each section. The Licensing Specialist provides thorough and accurate information related to the statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures for the boards with which assigned.
Key Responsibilities
- Process applications and changes for licensure/certification from businesses and individuals
- Provide telephone coverage and respond to inquiries related to the statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures for the boards
- Work as a team member with limited supervision while handling multiple tasks
- Provide exceptional customer service skills
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow verbal and written directions
- Ability to analyze and compare information, draw conclusions, exercise discretion and judgment in eligibility determinations
- Customer service experience
- Experience with computer software applications
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and data entry
- Experience in a regulatory environment
Special Instructions
Please note that this position may be eligible for limited telework and is not a full-time telework position. Upon hire into this position, the agency requires the incumbent to be in the position for 90 days before a specific telework schedule may be submitted for consideration.
