Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team at Hughes. As a key member of our Enterprise business, you will be responsible for driving operations and building services that comprehensively provision, scale, and operate Hughes Business Solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain data workflows and pipelines using Apache Airflow.
  • Write efficient, reusable, and reliable Python code, with a focus on developing web applications.
  • Work comfortably in a Linux environment, demonstrating proficiency in system administration tasks, shell scripting, and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in code reviews, analyze and troubleshoot issues, and provide constructive feedback to peers.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality software.
  • Utilize version control systems effectively, ensuring collaborative and efficient development workflows.
  • Create and maintain clear, detailed, and comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Actively seek opportunities to enhance skills and share knowledge within the team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of professional experience in Python development, with a strong focus on Flask/ReactJS, Apache Airflow, networking, databases, and Linux.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving project requirements and priorities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and experience with Fortinet, VeloCloud, Cisco Meraki, Cradlepoint, Juniper, and Aruba vendor platforms.
  • Proficiency with RESTful API development and familiarity with FastAPI or Litestar Python API frameworks.
  • Familiarity with relational databases, such as PostgreSQL and MySQL, and non-relational databases, such as MongoDB.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Understanding of DevOps practices, performance benchmarking, and tools.
