Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-service-driven Underwriting Assistant to join our Mid-Atlantic Commercial Lines Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the insurance quoting process, communicating efficiently with retail insurance agents and internal team members, and assisting underwriters with insurance quoting, documentation, and correspondence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the insurance quoting process, ensuring timely and accurate communication with retail insurance agents and internal team members.
  • Assist underwriters with insurance quoting, documentation, and correspondence, utilizing various insurance carrier portals and internal database tools.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail insurance agents, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to in-house marketing efforts, including agency outreach and promotional activities.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent business experience preferred.
  • Property & Casualty Insurance License preferred, but can be completed after the date of hire.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Open to coaching and continuous improvement.
