Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Manager to join our team in the Northeast offices. As a key member of our HR team, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating human resource management activities to maximize the strategic use of human resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a liaison between management and employees, handling questions, interpreting, and administering contracts, and helping resolve work-related problems.
  • Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion, and employee benefits.
  • Administer compensation, benefits, and performance management systems, and safety and recreation programs.
  • Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates.
  • Advise managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommend needed changes.
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster a positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
  • Handle employee complaints/investigations.
  • Interact with Managing Directors to ensure compliance with HR processes.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience in an HR role.
  • Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Management of Personnel Resources - Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
  • Writing - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
  • Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Negotiation - Bringing others together and trying to reconcile differences.
  • Computer Skills – Ability to operate spreadsheet, word processing, and email programs. Familiarity with and ability to operate HRIS system.
  • Training – Ability to train other HR team members on processes and train new hires on firm processes.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources.
  • PHR or SPHR a plus.
