Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a Cyber Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for assessing and evaluating cybersecurity requirements to decompose, derive, and refine system cybersecurity requirements to drive built-in cybersecurity protections to the architecture and design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and assess customers'/stakeholders' cybersecurity requirements to decompose, derive, and refine system cybersecurity requirements to drive built-in cybersecurity protections to the architecture and design.
  • Evaluate and assess proposed and realized implementation to identify security risks and verify cybersecurity protections from the design are realized and integrated while ensuring the development of verification efforts to ensure cybersecurity protections/capabilities are functional, effective, and complete.
  • Utilize Atlassian product suite, including Jira and Confluence, to support Agile Scrum team development efforts.
  • Perform Cyber System Engineering activities supporting all phases of systems development in the areas of Cybersecurity/Systems Security Engineering, and Assessment and Authorization (A&A) as per Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Author, support, and maintain cybersecurity program documentation & RMF package documentation: Cybersecurity Strategies, System Security Plans, Continuous Monitoring Plans, Risk Assessment Report, POA&Ms, etc.
  • Support system security requirements, architecture, design, development, evaluation, certification, and accreditation.
  • Perform vulnerability scans and mitigate findings.
  • Implement Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Prepare ATO artifacts to include baselines, SOP, SSP, RAR, and POA&M.
  • Provide advanced technical analyses of cyber infrastructure challenges and problems; develop/identify technical solutions responsive to customer needs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree with 5 or more years of related technical experience; OR Masters Degree with 3 or more years of related technical experience; OR 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Currently possess an ACTIVE Secret Clearance.
  • Currently possess an ACTIVE DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (Security+).
  • Experience with vulnerability and compliance scanners such as Nessus and SCAP.
  • Experience with End Point Security (ESS) Agents such as Trellix.
  • Working knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Experience with implementing STIGs and tracking non-compliance of Plan of Actions & Milestones (POA&Ms).
  • Experience utilizing eMASS.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working toward obtaining and maintaining Authorization to Operate (ATO).
  • Experience working in a SAFe (Agile) environment.
  • Familiarity with Linux and operating in a Linux environment.
  • Familiarity operating in a Windows environment.
  • DoD 8500-series and IA policy directives, approaches to cyber security, knowledge of security procedures, IATT and ATO requirements.

As part of the Specialized Warfighter Development Contract (SWDC) Modeling & Simulation Software (MSS) program, you will have opportunities to support a wide range of Missile Defense Agency (MDA) directorates with multiple products & capabilities under the MSS Task Order. The selected Cyber Systems Engineer will directly support the Value Management Office (VMO) team.

The salary range for this position is $107,300 - $160,900. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
