Job Summary

Powell Houston-Canton is seeking a skilled Assembly Team Lead to oversee the assembly process on our 2nd shift at our facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and excellent communication skills to lead a team and support production objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direction and guidance to hourly employees in the department.
  • Organize job duties and oversee training for new hires, ensuring matrix requirements for cross-training are met.
  • Mentor and facilitate safety squad and safety program activities.
  • Organize and prioritize daily workflow to meet customer delivery dates.
  • Create work orders and write HFDs.
  • Proficient in multi-tasking and adapting to change based on customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot machine problems and make recommendations when necessary.
  • Work with engineers, supervisors, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and meet customer demand.
  • Coordinate inventory cycle counts and forecasting for raw and external vendor-related materials.
Requirements
  • Previous leadership experience, such as lead person or crew leader.
  • Multi-tasking, organizational skills, and communication are essential for this role.
  • Experience with PCs and Windows software, with database experience preferred.
  • Able to read technical documents, such as technical manuals and mechanical engineered drawings.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality system.

Compensation
