Job Title: Registered Nurse

Catholic Health Services is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in providing high-quality care to our patients and their families.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for identifying and coordinating patient/family needs and providing preventive and supportive care to the terminally ill patient/family unit. The ideal candidate will possess excellent assessment, intervention, and teaching skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of patients and families within 24 hours of admission.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation of patient/family services and maintain accuracy of electronic medical records.
  • Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team and ensure availability of all resources.
  • Collaborate with nursing home staff to initiate written plans of care and maintain professional management of hospice care.
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement projects as directed by the Clinical Team.
  • Serve as case manager and advocate for patients and families, collaborating with attending physicians, insurance case managers, and other healthcare practitioners.
  • Administer medications and treatments prescribed by attending physicians and/or hospice physicians.
  • Attend and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings as required.
  • Participate in hospice activities, such as memorial services and community education, as requested by the Team Manager.
  • Provide orientation to new employees and ensure effective communication with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and demonstrate ability to work calmly and maintain effectiveness in high-stress situations.
Requirements:
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Clear and active Registered Nurse license to practice in the state of Florida.
  • 1-2 years of nursing experience preferred, with hospice nursing experience preferred.
  • Certification in Hospice & Palliative Medicine (CHPN) preferred, required within two years of employment.
  • Knowledge of computer office/clinical software and ability to read, write, and understand the English language.
Working Conditions:

The Registered Nurse will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, requiring the ability to lift and move patients according to accepted nursing standards of body mechanics. The ideal candidate will be able to travel to any location throughout South Florida as needed and expand territory as business needs dictate.
