As an Administrative Support Specialist at Appalachian State University, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to the Wellness and Prevention department. This role includes hiring, training, and supervising student desk assistants, using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system for scheduling, managing provider schedules, responding to information-seeking and scheduling phone calls and emails, managing shared office spaces, implementing a clinical services satisfaction survey, providing front desk coverage when student workers are unavailable, and assisting student workers with onboarding and time-keeping.

This position also involves departmental purchasing, travel, budget management, and collaboration with similar positions in other departments. While this role primarily supports health promotion programming and outreach, the successful candidate may directly engage in health promotion programming and outreach.

The ideal candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to maintain accurate and secure records. They will also have knowledge of program policies, procedures, and information systems, as well as experience with technology, including EMRs, phones, copiers, scanners, and faxes.

In terms of salary, we offer a competitive compensation package, with an estimated annual salary range of $34,602 - $40,059. This is a permanent full-time staff position with a normal work schedule of 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
