Position Overview
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated and skilled Structural Engineering Discipline Lead for immediate employment in our upstate New York offices.
The selected candidate will be part of AECOM's Transportation Business Line, engaging in a variety of design-build civil engineering projects for local, state, and federal agencies, as well as private sector clients. Projects will span across New York State and surrounding areas, with some travel required to project sites and client meetings.
The role involves collaboration with colleagues to achieve project objectives while adhering to company standards. Responsibilities include managing project or structural tasks on significant projects and supervising a team of professional and entry-level engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership in a specialized area.
- Utilize extensive knowledge of engineering principles and practices across various assignments.
- Independently resolve technical challenges and represent the organization in discussions.
- Plan and coordinate work, addressing critical issues and new concepts.
- Apply advanced techniques and adapt theories and practices from related fields.
- Guide and supervise team members on overall objectives and policy matters.
- Receive direction on unique conditions and developments.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 8 years of relevant experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with NYDOT / NYSTA standards.
- Familiarity with local municipal and state clients.
- Design-build experience and knowledge of local contractors.
