We are seeking a dedicated Senior Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to enhance our team.
Job Summary:
The Senior Custodian, under direct supervision, is responsible for comprehensive cleaning, linen management, floor maintenance, and project services as assigned by the supervisor.
This role may also involve specific interior and exterior cleaning duties to uphold a clean and sterile environment across the facility.
The individual may be assigned to various roles, including:patient area cleaner, non-patient area cleaner, waste management technician, specialized care unit cleaner, among others.
Key Responsibilities:
May oversee and mentor Custodian I staff (10%)
Collects and disposes of trash and linens (10%)
Maintains building floors through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming, adhering to procedures for chemical cleaners and equipment to avoid damage (10%)
Operates floor care machinery to strip, seal, finish, and polish floors, as well as clean carpets and upholstery using buffers, scrubbers, burnishers, extractors, and related equipment (10%)
Safely transports and manages trash, recycling, medical waste, linens, and other materials to designated areas while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
(15%)Washes windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning solutions and tools (15%)
Prepares cleaning solutions by mixing water with detergents or acids according to specifications (15%)
Changes bed linens (15%)
Qualifications:
No High School Diploma and/or No GED Required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Familiarity with the tools and equipment necessary for the role. Understanding of safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment to ensure a clean and organized workspace.
Proficiency in proper cleaning techniques. Ability to learn about potential hazards and safety measures. Competence in following oral, illustrated, written, or demonstrated instructions. Strong communication skills. Ability to comply with Health Department standards. Proficiency in English is strongly preferred.Formal or informal education or training that ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for effective job performance.
