LaMotte Company is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) professional to lead EHS activities at our manufacturing sites in Newark, DE, and Chestertown, MD.
Key Responsibilities- Compliance and Risk Management: Oversee and document company compliance with state, federal, and international safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Hazardous Materials Management: Develop and implement a hazardous material handling and disposal program, and identify waste recycling and minimization alternatives.
- Training and Development: Provide workplace safety training programs for all employees, and work with employees to identify and eliminate workplace hazards.
- Incident Investigation and Response: Participate in incident investigations and serve as a subject matter expert on compliance requirements.
- Performance Metrics and Reporting: Maintain site EHS performance metrics, and drive the timely closure of action items.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Lead the site Safety Steering Team, and serve as a primary emergency response coordinator.
- Education: Minimum of B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent education/experience in the sciences.
- Experience: Experience in leading EHS compliance activities in chemical or related manufacturing facilities.
- Skills: Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1910 and EPA hazardous waste requirements, excellent oral and written communication skills, and action orientation.
